CCNI is founded, offering regular shipping services from Chile to Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.
1961
AGUNSA opens its first agency in Quintero. CCNI acquires a 99.95% ownership stake in AGUNSA. The company purchases its first launch vessel (Lancha Maulina).
1962
Vessel agency services begin.
Port operations are launched, providing services to both Chilean and foreign vessels.
1964
Stevedoring operations commence for CCNI vessels.

1965
Service begins for CCNI vessels and its representatives at the Port of San Antonio.
An office is opened at the Port of San Antonio.
Vessel services commence in Talcahuano.
1968
The Santiago office is opened.
1971
The company’s first labor union is established.
Operations begin at the Port of Iquique.
The first set of forklift cranes (forklifts) is acquired.

1972
AGUNSA becomes the property of CORFO (Chilean Economic Development Agency).
1973
An office is opened in Antofagasta.
1975
Third-party vessel management services begin.
1975
The Iquique branch is inaugurated.

1979
An office is opened in Talcahuano.
1981
New crane equipment is acquired for operations in Iquique and San Antonio.
1983
Euroandina de Inversiones S.A. — today known as Grupo Empresas Navieras S.A. — is incorporated on June 24, 1983, as a closely held company, primarily operating as an investor in equities, bonds, and real estate.
1984
AGUNSA Estibas Ltda. is established, later becoming REPORT Ltda.

1985
A branch office is inaugurated in Punta Arenas.
1986
A 50% stake in Delmar Containers Mendoza is acquired.
1987
Modaltrade S.A. is established.
Branch offices are opened in Puerto Montt and Coquimbo.
1989
Euroandina de Inversiones S.A. — today known as Grupo Empresas Navieras S.A. — is incorporated as a closely held company, primarily operating as an investor in equities, bonds, and real estate.

1990
International expansion begins across Latin America.
1992
The company consolidates as a publicly traded company, launching a strategic plan aimed at positioning itself as an investment group focused on fully operational businesses with clear objectives.
1994
Portuaria Cabo Froward S.A. merges with its subsidiary, Portuaria Puchoco S.A., retaining the former’s name. This milestone enables GEN to strengthen control over key companies — all publicly traded on the local stock exchange — and to more effectively address strong domestic and international competition, as well as evolving market challenges.
1995
The company establishes a presence in Colombia, Brazil, and Perú.

1996
Logistics and maritime cargo distribution activities commence.
1997
Through SCL Terminal Aéreo de Santiago S.A., the concession for Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport is awarded.
The company partners with CPT Agencias Marítimas and enters the tugboat business.
1999
The company establishes a presence in Venezuela.
CPT Empresas Marítimas S.A. acquires TRANSMARCHILAY.
2000
A logistics and distribution center is inaugurated in the municipality of Lampa.

2002
VTP (Valparaíso Passenger Terminal Company S.A.) is established.
2003
The concession for Montego Bay Airport in Jamaica is awarded.
Passenger airline agency services begin for United Airlines and Air Canada.
The company establishes a presence in Mexico.
Construction of warehouses begins at the Lampa distribution center.
2004
GEN acquires a 35% stake in Antofagasta Terminal Internacional S.A. and, together with other partners, forms Sociedad Terminal Puerto Arica S.A., marking its entry into the franchised port terminal business.
2005
The concession for the Port Everglades port in the United States is awarded.
AGUNSA Europe S.A. is established.

2008
AGUNSA establishes subsidiaries in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and China.
AGUNSA Costa Rica, AGUNSA Guatemala, AGUNSA Honduras, and AGUNSA El Salvador are established.
2010
Se adjudica la concesión del Aeropuerto El Loa en CalamaThe concession for El Loa Airport in Calama is awarded.
2011
GEN acquired 15% of Iquique Terminal Internacional S.A. and was awarded a 30-year concession for the berthing front of the Port of Talcahuano, through the incorporation of Talcahuano Terminal Portuario S.A. (TTP).
2012
GEN created two new subsidiaries, Angol Navigation Ltd. and Arauco Navigation Ltd. The purpose of each subsidiary is to purchase and operate, by means of hiring, a container carrier vessel per subsidiary, with capacity of 9,000 TEU each, built at the Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. shipyards. Ltd.

2014
Operations expand to include the handling of hazardous cargo.
ABX Warehouses is established for the construction and operation of two warehouses at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport.
Bunkering services are consolidated.
Corredor Ferroviario Express (CFX) is established to provide rail container transport services between San Antonio and Santiago.
2015
GEN sells CCNI’s container services to Hamburg Süd.
CMC is established, focused on maritime vehicle transport, shipbuilding, and cabotage services.
CMC acquires two 50,000-ton tanker vessels.
2016
In Ecuador, a 40-year concession for the Port of Manta is awarded.
The company acquires 100% of Transgranel in Uruguay.

2017
The concession for El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt is awarded.
CPT Tugboats operates in Argentina, Venezuela, and Panama.
KAR Logistics S.A. is established.
Operations begin at Puerto Ingeniero Buitrago (Ternium–Siderar, Argentina).
CMC incorporates two new vessels: BT Brio and BT Pioneros.
2018
The cruise terminal in Manta, Ecuador, is inaugurated.
2019
The concession for Chacalluta Airport in Arica is awarded.
E-commerce services are launched.
A warehouse with an extraport terminal (AEXSA) is inaugurated in San Antonio.
2020
Series B bonds are issued for UF 2,000,000 with a 10-year maturity.
Series E bonds are issued for UF 1,500,000 with an 8-year maturity.
CMC acquires the vessel Puerto Aysén to provide services to ENAP for a five-year period.

2021
AGUNSA is awarded the operation of Terminal 2 at the Port of Valparaíso for a four-year period.
AGUNSA becomes the leading logistics operator in Chile’s mining industry, supported by multiple contracts across the sector.
2022
AGUNSA acquires a 75% stake in Carver Maritime’s Manatee Terminal in Florida.
AGUNSA enters into a joint venture with Menzies Aviation PLC to provide ground handling services across Latin America.
CMC acquires the vessel Don Pancho II to provide bunkering services to COPEC S.A. for a three-year period.
2023
AGUNSA acquires 75% of ESBO Logistics in Spain.
AGUNSA acquires 70% of A.R. Savage Company, a maritime agency, freight forwarder, and consulting firm on the west coast of Florida. AGUNSA acquires 100% of Algeciras Strait of Gibraltar Shipping SL and Sociedad Gibport Services Limited.

CMC acquires two tanker vessels, each with a capacity of 50,000 m³.
AGUNSA acquires 58% of Omni Transloading & Logistics and Omni Bulk Services, strengthening its logistics and transloading operations in the United States. Additionally, AGUNSA is awarded a contract with Mondelez in Peru for the operation of its warehouse and distribution center.
2025
CMC adds the MR Antillanca and Ancud vessels, strengthening its position in the tanker segment.
AGUNSA acquires its partner’s stake in the airport business together with Menzies Aviation, consolidating its presence in this segment. It also drives the development of its logistics network with the construction of a warehouse at Agunsa Manatee Terminal (AMT) in the United States and the opening of a logistics center in Bogotá with an initial capacity of 10,000 m².
In Europe, subsidiary ESBO implements automated logistics solutions for clients, while in Chile growth in the mining sector is consolidated, with extensions and awards of relevant contracts with companies such as Teck, Codelco, and Capstone Copper, in addition to the maritime agency contract with Collahuasi.
